About

Founded in 1981, Christian Foundation for Children and Aging (CFCA) has more than 250,000 sponsors supporting more than 300,000 children, youth and aging friends worldwide.

Ana Cristina, a CFCA sponsored child in the Dominican RepublicWhen a sponsor commits to sponsoring a child, youth or aging friend for $30 a month through our Hope for a Family sponsorship program, it impacts the entire family. Our approach to sponsorship provides basic necessities like food, education, clothing and access to medical care – but then it goes much further.

Sponsors get to know their sponsored friends through letters and photographs, and some sponsors travel to meet the people they support on CFCA-hosted mission awareness trips.

Grounded in the Gospel call to serve the poor, CFCA is a lay Catholic organization working with persons of all faiths. Please visit www.hopeforafamily.org, email info@cfcausa.org, or call (800) 875-6564 or (913) 384-6500 for more information.

our family is blessed to be able to share our everyday lives, love and blessings with the Ramirez family. Our Ahijado Angel lives in the western highlands of Guatemala…. near San Lucas Toliman…google the city…you are in for a treat! Our little Angel came to us through our Catholic Church in the spring of 2003….our son, then 8 …. saw his folder and asked if we could keep him!!? And keep him we have …in our hearts and prayers…we have witnessed his courage and strength first hand as he has struggled with the obstacles of poverty, the joy at the birth of a new sister the heartbreaking sorrow and confusion at the loss of his young father to cancer…his mom remarrying :( ….we have shared our everyday lives with the Ramirez family through letters and pictures these past 7 years ….we are most proud to tell you Angel lives with two of his cousins along with his grandparents. The family is doing well, they are healthy happy and prospering….. Angel continues to work diligently in school. He sees his mother often as she lives nearby. His siblings Diego and Manuela live with Grandparents also in a city some distance away….. Over the years we have on many occasions worked directly with CFCA staff and have been able to provide Angel with items that allowed him to be more successful in school, and a wooden dresser to keep his school clothing in….much to my delight …in the beginning, when i was scouring the internet to find any little bit of info i could on Guatemala … i came across a beautiful lady who operates a small gift basket business in Guatemala City….we have been blessed to be able to have sent a large package of staple food items and a small gift to our Ahijado …many Christmas’s Vilma has delivered a beautiful and practical gift basket for us….if you have never known the joy and love of connecting with a family in such a way as we have with the Ramirez family….i urge…don’t wait…get involved!
if yoiu are reading this and you are saying “i can’t commit to every month” then i urge you to make a donation to either the Birthday, Christmas or Urgent Need funds !! 100% of donaitons to those funds go directly to the fund! there is no little bit of your money going here or there…100% goes to the fund! The money in those funds is used soALL THE KIDS AND AGING can have a little traditional birthday (name day) celebration with nice practical gifts for their birthdays usually clothing or school supplies, shoes….conversely Christmas fund monies are used so ALL THE KIDS AND AGING can have a fun time at a traditional Christmas celebration and receive a small gift….
we try to tell everyone how special sponsoring Angel has been and is for us….we made a presentaiton for our local church with captioned pictures of the family hoping to encourage members of the church community to join with us…and now i’ve told you of our experience! hoping you will join with us too….please do!! for all the Angels out there….

Hi! I am from Guatemala and CFCA has been part of my life for many years. I was a sponsored child when I was 9 years old, CFCA was helping me with schooling, health care and many useful benefits, CFCA was helping me when I really needed its help, now I am working for CFCA Guatemala and I feel proud for being working here.
There is not place where you can feel the same happiness and blessings as you can feel here in CFCA helping to poor families.
Now I have a sponsored child also, his name is Mark in the Phillippines, as you can see, CFCA has been part of my life and I have been part of CFCA too, I was a sponsored child, and now I am a worker and a sponsor also.
Hey you! You are reading now this message, I urge you to be part of this great movement of love. CFCA REALLY WALKS WITH POOR PEOPLE!!!
