Bob Hentzen: Honor his life, support a dream

Bob Hentzen with Kenyan children

“You are capable of far more than you think you are.” – Bob Hentzen

As thousands around the world gather to honor the life of our President and Co-founder Bob Hentzen, we are reminded just how powerful a dream can be.

Bob dreamed of a world free from the bonds created by poverty, a world where childhood dreams become reality.

Now it’s our turn to show Bob just how much he impacted not only our lives, but thousands of lives around the world.

In honor of his life, his family is asking you to “get behind these children.” Support our friends living in poverty through sponsorship or donations to our scholarship fund.

He walked with the poor. He believed in the poor.

Support a child today and continue his dream.

Celebrations of his life:

A funeral service will be held at the Hermano Pedro office in Guatemala at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2013. His body will be laid to rest at the San Lucas Toliman Cemetery.

At this time, a memorial mass is tentatively scheduled to be held in Kansas City later this month. We will continue to update you as arrangements are made.

  1. I met Bob and Cristina and Jerry Tolle after my retirement as pastor and chaplain at a Veterans hospital My first day in K.C. I spent with Jerry and then the next day (St. Patrick’s Day) with Bob.I got bery sick that night and Bob took me to the hospital forsurgery. The few days I spent in the hospital were rewarded by visits fro CFCA staff.
When I recovered I was able to start preaching at many churches about the sponsorship program.
I was able to visit Gautemala with Bob and really learned a lot; it was during Holy Week
I admired Bob’s dedication and physical strength especially his long walk. It did a lot more for the world and its people than Mao Long March
Bob, may the road rise to meet you on you way to eternal life
God bless Cristina and all Bob’s family

  2. To Christina, Carlos and Jacob – and Paul, Catherine and Laney and all of CFCA-
We extend our sincere condolences in prayer for Bob’s passing and celebrate the honoring of Bob’s life of tremendous service to the most needy around the world. Prayers for Bob’s dreams to continue to bloom.
    Sincerely,
    Lou and Mary Finocchario
