Benedictine college students from Kansas celebrate with Faustina and her family in front of her new home.

A new home has a monumental impact on Faustina’s family and on the group of students from Benedictine College in Kansas who traveled to El Salvador to help build the house.

A group of students from Benedictine College in Kansas traveled to El Salvador to help build a house for a family in the CFCA program.

Bridget Jensen, a student at the College, wrote a letter to the CFCA staffers in El Salvador to express the gratitude the students felt after building Faustina’s new home.

Dear Henry and CFCA staff,

I would like to try to express my gratitude for all that you have done for our group this week. This was my first time to El Salvador, and after this week I hope it is not my last.

We all came down this week to serve, and I know I, for one, did not expect to be served in such an amazing way by you and your staff. Our every need was met. But even more, you all went so above and beyond to show us hospitality. The food was amazing, the bedrooms were great, and the facilities are beautiful. I can honestly say we were so well taken care of by all of you, so thank you so much!

I know I am not alone when I say it was an honor to serve beside you all this week. Even though I came this week to serve, you and your staff have taught me such humility, charity and love. To be able to join you in the work CFCA does, even for one week, has left a mark on my heart for the rest of my life.

Thank you for your service to the poor, for your hospitality toward us, and for the example you have been to all of us this week.

You will all be in my prayers as I leave here and return to the U.S., and I would please beg you to remember us. I look forward to the day when I can say that I walked among saints with CFCA in El Salvador.

Love and God bless,

Bridget Jensen and Benedictine students
