Dear Luis — Thank you so much for your inspiring article. I have communicated with my sponsored child in Guatemala through Proyecto Hermano Pedro since 2004. She lives in Los Cerritos District and is now 17 years old. I do not know if you have ever translated letters for her, but that does not matter. While I am able to write to her in Spanish, I realize that many U.S. sponsors are not bilingual, and I wish to thank you for the invaluable service that you provide. In June of this year, when writing to my sponsored child, I said this about CFCA’s translators: “Yo admiro mucho a los hombres y mujeres que traducen las cartas. Gracias a ellos, los patrocinadores de mi paÌs pueden comunicarse con sus amigos patrocinadores. Tal vez alg˙n dÌa podr·s traducir las cartas.”
