In memory

In addition to what we had reported earlier, it has been confirmed that nine sponsored children died in the ensuing mudslides caused by Tropical Storm Agatha. We have personally notified each sponsor individually of the loss.*

Today, we want to honor the memory of those nine children who died in the mudslides. The short video below is a small tribute to our dear friends.

Thank you for your continued prayers.

*As is our policy, we do not release names of the deceased until the sponsors have been notified first.

  1. Thank you for the beautiful tribute to the children and their parents and siblings who also died. My heart aches for their heartbroken family members and for their grieving sponsors. I will continue to pray for these brave people as they begin the arduous recovery project, and I will also make an donation to the recovery fund.

  4. We must keep praying and working hard to help people overcome the many obstacles they face in this world. Thanks be to God for CFCA, and the many wonderful sponsors who can offer help and hope through our strong faith in God May the many suffering people feel Gods presence in their lives right now.

  5. This is so touching! After being there and seeing all those bright beautiful faces it makes losing these precious few all the more intense. There are many things we all need to look to be doing to help prevent natural disaster due to climate changes, please think of conservation and clean energy practices.
For those of you who lost your sponsor children I am soo sorry.

  6. My heart is broken for the families in Guatemala- and for the sponsers of those precious children who perished. May God continue to bless CFCA and the teams who have rolled up their sleeves to help, and have had their own hearts broken during this process. May God’s gentle peace help to ease the pain.
