Chris,

Thanks for your questions. CFCA is a one-to-one sponsorship program, meaning that each child or aging person has one sponsor. By doing this, CFCA is able to reach out and impact more families in the various countries where we work. Furthermore, a sponsored friendís folder is only sent out to one church or appeal at a time, so that one sponsor may choose him or her. If no sponsor is found at a particular church for a particular sponsored friend, the folder is returned to CFCA so it can be sent out to a different location in hopes of finding a sponsor.

Since writing letters can be a new concept for some sponsored friends, sometimes letters tend to be generic in nature. Our primary aim is to be sure the children write their required two letters every year, and improvement in the quality of the letters will hopefully follow as they grow more comfortable with writing. Here is a link to one of our blogs about letter writing and mail that you may find helpful: http://blog.cfcausa.org/2008/11/04/from-the-mail-bag-writing-your-sponsored-friend/

If we can be of further assistance, please contact CFCA Sponsor Services by phone or email.

Sincerely,
Ashley

Thank you Joachim, it is wonderful to hear about our boy's subproject area. Can you visit the family for us? He is Devanand, Subproject SKO. We think he lives in the village of Sakdari, is that right?

Some of our friends tell us we are not the only family sponsoring this child, as the call to help at churches here goes out to many churches, so many families volunteer for the same child. Is that right? Can someone tell us the answer to that question? We never get a specific thank you for presents we sen in letters from him, the letters are always very general in nature. We plan on continuing our donation, although we would appreciate CFCA being straight with us about the nature of the organization.
