Haitian proverbs

A high illiteracy rate in Haiti has contributed to a strong oral tradition. Elders pass their knowledge and wisdom to younger generations in the form of clever and poetic proverbs, as contained in this slideshow.

    I was interested in the progress made in Haiti. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of the little gal I sponsor in Ferrier.
    I’m glad the people have hope.

    I am glad the people of Haiti are spiritually rich even if many of them are economically poor.
